    Default Newbie from AZ

Hey everyone, I figured it was about time to finally join and make my presence known.. I've been browsing and researching straight razor shaving for novel a year now, and finally decided to pick up a razor. I ended up with a straight razor from The Art of Shaving. Only been able to put it to use 4 times. So far no cuts! Im actually excited to shave, and have a blast when I get to! Attached is a pic, of my setup so far, on a budget so im starting slow. Hope to learn a ton more from everyone!

Thanks! I have not. I have a beard that my wife refuses to let me take off, so it's been my neck and cheeks so far.

Good start Saucy. Plenty of good info and friendships here. Sit back, click the mouse and Cruz the pages.
Plenty of good Artisan vendors in your neck of the woods.

Thanks! I'm sure I'll be needing a new, good strop shortly. This amazon cheepo one i picked up doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling using it! Not that I really know what I'm doing with it yet, though

Welcome to the club! I grew up in Tucson and have family there and in Mesa. This a very friendly and generous community and I'm sure you'll love hanging out here.

Right on. I lived there for 5 years, but was relocated up to mesa by my old company in 2010. I'm pretty excited to see all the good tips and tricks I can pick up here!

If from AOS then it probably isn't shave ready , may want to get it honed so you can enjoy a better shave, the problem with all of us is we don't know what a good edge is till we get one, plus AOS is a little high for their stuff, good luck and be careful. Dull razors can get you. Tc
