Thanked: 1081Hi and welcome to SRP.
First of all as mentioned read everything in the library. Also search "Japanese razors" in the custom search, this will give you more than enough info on Japanese razors to be getting on with.
If you're looking for a perfect kamisori (single bevel) look no further than an Iwasaki Tamahagnae. More info here: Hide's Export : Iwasaki and Tamahagane
or here: JAPANESE RAZOR. Kamisori. Straight Razor
Aframestokyo also sell all manor of NOS and new production japanese razors including strops, hones etc, etc.
The reason that there is not many Japanese, or any new straight razors being made now is that, this hobby, if you will, is still very niche and most would not see razor forging a good investment.
As mentioned there are lots of NOS Japanese razors out there. Ive not had a bad one yet, and to me make some of the best straights to be had. Names to look out for are: Iwasaki, Tosuke,Henkotsu, Hayashi Diamond, Zubora, Kikuboshi, Tanifuji, and Eiko to name a few.
As for the Feather folding and non folding replacement blade razors, Ive never used one but always read good reviews, though just not for me.
Good luck on your journey!

Good post markbignosekelly. The reason I sent the link for the other seller was because he had a Tamahagane straight razor but it ended below. He might have others as well.
