    Welcome the the group. You have issues with sharpening? Find someone to hone your razor and will show you how to do it. I'm old and have sharpened tool from my boy scout days. There is a skill you get razors right. Once sharp, learn how to strop correctly. You can do it wrong, I used to. As for the actual strop, I have nice strops and sometimes strop with the backside of my heavy leather belt. Fancy is not needed. Skill is. Talk to us. And welcome

    Thank you. I am use to sharpening knives (both fix and folding), but I realise that honing a Razor is quite different. I will find myself a decent whet stones up to 8000 grit, and start from there.

    4 strokes on an 8000 grit, strop and try. might be enough
