Hello Omar and welcome.
You have come to the right place if you are looking for information.
I am curious as to what razors you have been using and how you have managed to keep them sharp?

Thanked: 0I am using Dovo Facharbeit. I am still learning how to sharpen. So far I sharpen using sandpaper up to 5000 grit, and strop using leather strop. I am not yet satisfied with the result.

Hi, Omar. Welcome to Straight Razor Place!
Have you ever had your razor honed by a professional? You might consider looking for an additional straight razor, or two, that have been sharpened by a pro. That way you will have a couple in rotation if you need to send one out to be honed.

Hi and welcome. Generally we consider a razor shave ready at 8k or 8000 grit. Sounds like you are doing well and just need to refine your edge further to get a better shave. Check out the library and beginner's section and most of what you need to know is in there. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask.
