Hi and welcome. Hope you get to meet with badgister and get your blade sorted. Honing isn't easy to start with and learning on your shaving blade is not going to end well. If you do want to learn get a cheaper good quality razor to learn on. Atm your razor and technique both need work but with a meet I'm sure you can make a great start 2nd time round. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Thanked: 0Yeah, that's what I think I'm going to do. Get another straight razor that is shave ready (if mine is not already in good condition after meeting up with Badgister), and learn with that razor while the other will be used for training my honing/stropping technique.
I thought that I was going to save money, by getting one straight razor that will last the rest of my life... But its a good idea to get more than one I guess. And its more fun!

Thanked: 0I've finally met Badgister. Great guy, he took the time to look at my razor. But something is not right with my razor. So he suggested that I order one from a few of his favorite place, and I've choosen (Revisor), the razor is already on its way!
But at least, I've been able to compare my technique that I was using on my defect razor, and at least I can see that I was doing everything right, so the problem is really with the razor. I'll try to hone it some more.
