You will learn a lot starting in the Library & going from there. If you didn't cut the strop too bad which I doubt you did, you can sand that little bit out or if it has a small part sticking up, you can glue it back down using some super glue (CA) or what I like to use is rubber cement because it isn't hard like the CA.

1st of all Happy bday to your mum, I was stupid and cut the little flaps off which has probably shortened the life of the leather but ohwell stupid beginner mistakes eh! I'm gonna have to check out this library, several people have mentioned it! I can't find it when I'm on my cell phone, is it only on the full page/computer version?

And don't worry about the beginner mistakes, we've all been there. I messed up 3 strops during the first month with a straight.

Wow glad I'm not the only 1 that had issues to start with, its an amazing thing straight shaving, I think more people need to try it!
