    Hi,
I'm new to straight razors, been using a safety razor for a few years.

Welcome to SRP, gentisle! I'm sure the safety razor experience will come in useful learning to use a straight razor.

Well your username seems imaginative, unless you're just a bad speller!

So you say new, does that mean you want to try straight razor shaving out? Or did you just buy one or are about to buy one? Inquiring minds want to know!
    By the way...welcome!

    Welcome to SRP!
Make sure you check out the beginner's section in the library. It will answer a lot of the basic questions. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask us.

Welcome. There is a lot of good information here and a bunch of knowledgeable people that like to share. If you have been DE shaving then I'm sure you have a good brush and some soaps, you are half way there. A razor and a strop and away you go. There are good straights at good prices in the classifieds, strops not so much. Strop can be had for decent prices retail anyway. If you put a specific location in your profile you are more likely to find people near you for hands on gel when you need it.

    Leatherstockiings - thanks.
    Utopian - not mis-spelled, thanks.
Ernie1980 - already bought, thanks glad to be here.
criswilson10 - thanks, I did check it out, and I will.
RezDog - Thanks, that's helpful. Already bought most of my stuff. I have been using brush and soap for many years. The only soap I can find is that terrible smelling stuff and Walmart and Walgreens, so I have to order Herban Cowboy mug soap from Amazon. I don't know anything about soaps, but this one seems to work well.
    engine46 - Thanks. I'll check those out.
    eddy79 - Thanks.
