Greetings from NC
On the advice of mantic59, I went to this site this morning. Great advice Mark! I'm very close to joining the ranks of the straight razor users. Looking forward to some great tips from veteran straight blade folks.

Hey, thanks Leatherstockiings. This looks like a great site. I feel a little less than a real dunce when it comes to blades/sharp edges. I'm a knife collector (mostly Spyderco) who has sharpened many a blade but never a straight razor. Again, thanks for your welcome greeting.

Thanked: 228Welcome to SRP. It's a great ride and soon you will probably have more straights than you ever thought you would. Smooth shaves to you.

And if you've been reading, please take note SRS don't hone like knives are sharpened. Read a lot and watch videos, and since you understand sharp things, you'll catch on quickly. It's a blast!

Howdy oldmandon & welcome aboard. There's plenty of room on this ship & it's not going down. You'll find plenty of info in the Library & go from there. Look all over this site, you won't believe your eyes!!!! Yes as Harold pointed out, a knife & a straight are two different species & are sharpened differently.
ny questions, just ask.
Good luck my friend.
