Thanked: 0Hello from the Mountains of NC.
Hi, I started straight shaving when I was a teenager because my Grandpa insisted on making me a MAN. I used a cheap razor from a gun show stropped on a one piece leather strop and sometimes newspaper. I'm sure now that it had a terrible edge. I grew a beard when my oldest was born and only shaved it off for a short time when I was in the Army but I used a cheap disposable like everyone else did. I grew back my beard after I was out of the Army and just recently in the last few months started shaving with a DE safety razor. I'm trying to return to the straight and found this site searching for advice on hones.
I'm a very active member on another shaving forum and I hope that I'm accepted here as strongly as I was there.

Welcome! It is astonishing how helpful people are here. I'm sure you will find yourself at home.
Don't ever hesitate to ask.. Always ask, some guys are good at some things others other things, few are good at everything, so there's no shame in asking.
