Thanked: 0Wet shaving path has taken me to straights!
Hi All, I've been wet shaving for the last few years and with the help of a good friend who passed his starter gear to me embarked on the path of shaving with a straight razor. What felt like a months passed before I really feel comfortable holding and stropping my straight but after sacrificing a strop to the learning process I can say I'm 'ok' enough to get my 3 passes to a great feeling shave.
Big thank you to this forum where I lurked for a while combing through the wealth of knowledge and experience to apply to my own experiences and shave. Looking forward to contribute and interact with the fine members here and improve my skill move further down this path I've embraced!
Started honing in recent weeks and definitely not an easy skill to acquire... but here we go!

Any questions, just ask!
Good luck my friend.

Thanked: 3222Welcome to the forum and I hope you continue to enjoy shaving with a SR. Yea, honing is another steep learning curve but I think you will enjoy that too.

Thanked: 4821Welcome. If you put your location in it will help people near you identify where you are. There is nothing like one on one to help get your honing accelerated and the meets often have focussed workshops on honing.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Sounds like you are taking all the steps and enjoying yourself so does not get much better than that!!
+1 on finding a Meet or a Member to do some work in real-time... Seriously you learn more in a few hours than you can in a few months Online... Just having someone who has been there/done that helping to refine technique and point you in the right direction is absolutely priceless!!

Welcome to SRP!
Rub blade on rock, shave with blade, and decide shaving with rock is more comfortable.
