    Default New guy from Louisiana

My names Aaron I'm from Covington, LA. I'm 29 and ran across an article about straight razors and how its better and less irritation so after looking and snooping around I figured I'd give it a shot! I'm a career firefighter and I have to be clean shaving so I'm always looking for something to make me enjoy it. Hoping to get started real soon!

Welcome. Read the Library. Watch the many videos. Ask questions, no such thing as a stupid question. Don't rush into it. Take it slow and conquer one phase at a time. Read current and older Beginner's tips. Lots of info from long time shavers in that collection.

And thank you for showing your location. Current members and mentors may be just around the corner from you.

Welcome to the Straight Razor Place. There's a ton of ifo here and the folks here are happy to share. All in all a real good bunch of folks. Remember to take it slow. It's not a race. I find that using a straight razor is quite enjoyable. Be sure to CK out You Tube on the subject. There's a lot of info there that you can watch and not have to type as much. Again welcome.

Hi and welcome. Take it slow and do the reading before jumping in. Don't expect too much straight away. This is a learned skill and as such will take time. Start small and work your way into it and you will be fine. Read the library information but do searches as well. You can find more specific information that way. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask

Welcome Aaron. I'm from Louisiana also (Opelousas). Like you I have to be clean shaven for work. I switched from a DE to a straight razor 5 months ago and never looked back. If I can ever help please let me know!

Welcome to SRP!! You definitely came to the right place... Make sure to keep an eye on Threads in Red at the Top of every area as they often contain much of the information new folk are looking for or would benefit from.

    Enjoy your Shaving Journey!!
