Thanked: 0Hello I'm Dave from Ohio
Hello all. I just recently got into the straight razor rituals, I must say that this is one of the most relaxing times of my day. Also just started shopping around antique shop for vintage blades to start restoring.

Hi Dave & welcome aboard. You will find an almost endless wealth of knowledge & information here. The Library is the best place to start in the Beginners Guide & move on from there. The main tool you will need is a strop, then a good brush, soap & mug. You can practice stropping with a butter knife or dull knife to keep from cutting a strop & dulling a good razor edge. Great to have you here & look up some people near you to help you with some hands on mentoring. Here's a link for you to look:

Just enter your information & you will find some members but I can tell you of one who is a friend of mine known as outback (Mike). You might get lucky if he is near you. I'm sure he would help you out in any way he could.
Any questions just ask. Great to have you here.
Good luck my friend.

Thanked: 4828Welcome Dave from Ohio. There is a ton of information here and some very friendly and sharing people. Everyone loves pictures so you can let those fly anytime you feel the need. There are members in your general area so you should be able to attend some get togethers and meets.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!
