    Hi Everyone, I just become a member today. I just got my first Straight Razor on Christmas from my wife, it's a Dovo 5/8 Black Handle. She also bought me a Dovo 2 sided strop and also a strop balm. I have also made a new thread in the beginners section about some of the questions i have.

    i had my first shave today with it and i am very impressed, i didn't strop before shaving as it was "shave ready" apparently so i gave it ago and must say it was very good.

    i got tired of the plain razor shaving and thought i'd give something different a try and probably wont go back.

    That is similar to my first razor. Glad you are doing well with it. Here you can find lots of information on all aspects of straight razor shaving. Lots of great folks here, also.

    Hi and welcome. Just make sure it was honed and not factory shave ready as from factory they rarely are. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask
