Thanked: 0Hello from the great white north!!
Hello all. My name is Steve hailing from Newmarket, Ontario, and I like many here am new to straight razor shaving. Just ordered my first bit of kit and can't wait for it to get here. I purchased a Dovo 6/8 blade, along with the balance of the required accoutrements. I can't beleive it took me 41 years on this earth to come around but here I am! I'll keep you all posted.

Hi Steve & welcome to SRP. I see you have had many suggestions so just be patient & take your time is the main thing, learn to strop & go from there. You can practice stropping with a butterknife so you don't cut your strop & also dull your good edge like many of us did when we first started out. If you do cut your strop, you can sand it out or if it got a slice, you can glue it back down with CA (superglue) or rubber cement.
Great to have you here & ask questions anytime.
Good luck my friend.
