    Default Newbie in OKC

Hi all. My name is Darrell and I live in Oklahoma City. I have been wet shaving with a DE for several years and got the bug to try a straight. I recently decided to start out with a shavette and purchased a feather ss folder. So far I have been pleased with it. I have done 4 complete shaves using the pro guard blades with only one or two nicks!

This last weekend my wife and I went antiquing and I picked up a Shumate barber. It will need honing , not shave ready, but in pretty nice condition. Any honemeisters in OKC? Anyway looking forward to learning a lot here and enjoying this new adventure.Name: image.jpg

Welcome! Since you are already familiar with wet shaving you should be able to transition over to a straight fairly easily. Nice thinking looking for someone to hone it, it will give you a "baseline" to gauge future straights against.
Feel free to ask any questions that come up! By the way we like pictures of what you picked up
