Hello
Hello SRP,
I've been DE shaving for a few years and finally, after years of deliberation, acquired my first straight razor. I'm only a few shaves in and I believe I've fallen in love. Looking forward to meeting everyone and learning how to shave, again.
Thanks,
Chance

Welcome to the club! Gotta love that combination of precision, & required skill!
So what did you get? Where from? We love pics here!!! Oh, and where ya from? If you put your location into your profile, it will make it easier to get some 1-on-1 help. I'm told it really cuts down on the learning curve.
Have fun!
Sincerely,

Hi ChanceWayne & welcome aboard. Everyone already said what I would have said. I do say that you can practice stropping with a butterknife so you don't cut your strop & dull your edge. It wouldn't hurt to get you a second straight so that when you send one out to be honed, you still have one to shave with. Be patient, take you're your time & you will get better as time goes. Great to have you.
Good luck my friend.

Where did you get your razor? Maybe we can help with if its shave ready, that way if it is , it's technique , very likely as your new. In the beginning I had a razor that I thought was dull, got another that was shave ready and still had problems but as I got better the edge was fine. Dug out the first razor 4 months later and found out it was good too, it was me. So let's rule t out by finding out who honed it first and then we'll get you to someone to hone it for you,, if you want PM me and ll give you a couple of names to choose from,, Good luck. Tc
