Howdy Joe from one Texan to another & welcome to SRP. Sorry I was late to the party, I don't know how I missed this one but hey, it's never too late. I see you have already had a lot of advice so just be patient & take your time. Just where in The Lone Star state are ya? I'm right outside the Houston city limits in the small town of Sugar Land that Houston is growing around! As for strops, get you a good one. You can practice with a butterknife so you don't cut your strop or dull a sharp edge on a razor. Read in the Library & watch all the video's you can. Go to Youtube & type in Lynn Abrams, owner of this forum & he has some very educational & informative video's. Great to have you here & if you have any questions, just ask.
