Just so you know Straight Razor Designs has a brick and mortar store in Ohio. Not sure where in relation to your locale. Might be good to check in with them and be able to handle great stuff in person before buying.

Other than that, search the membership base (using Advanced Search) to see if there are any Senior members near you that are active (check dates of latest posts for that). Most are willing to sit down and go over basics and getting you started on the right path. One thing about this forum, asking questions gets a plethora of responses since we like helping a new shaver get their feet on the ground.

Read rules of conduct, the Library, be curious. No such thing as a bad question.

Welcome. First off a big thank you for your years of service in law enforcement. Check the library, and ask all the questions you want. Go slow and you will be fine.

Welcome from an old Ranger out of Benning , only about 45 years ago, read a lot, don't let the pride keep you from asking , and just go slow, it,ll come quickly enough. And then just ask anything you can't find. Hope your starting with the PROPER GEAR. Tc
