Thanked: 2New member
I have just joined this forum, new to wet shaving and straight razors. Started with a parker shavette and quickly ordered a real razor from Larry at whippeddog. Seems to be going well so far and I haven't needed any stitches yet. Thanks for a great source of information.

Hi rgould85 & welcome aboard! You're in the right place & you should go to the Library by clicking on it above & start in the Beginners Guide & go from there. I hope you have a strop coming as well because that is the most important tool you will need with a straight razor & need to learn how to use it which you will find out in the Library. You can practice stropping with a butterknife so you don't cut a good strop plus dull a good sharp edge on a razor. If you get stuck anywhere, just ask here on the forum & you will get many answers. Also if you go to Youtube & type in Lynn Abrams name, owner of this forum, you will see all of his video's which are very informative & educational. Great to have you here & good luck my friend.

Welcome to an older but better way of shaving!
Please be patient as this age old art has a huge learning curve. However once semi mastered it is very rewarding.
In addition to doing your research in the Library (wiki) check out this months Beginner's Tips. I think that it will explain more than I can write here!
Enjoy the ride! It's a long strange trip but well worth the journey

Ron, there are a lot of theories about what happens to us after we die. So far no one has actually proved anything.
