Thanked: 0New Okie On Board
Hello everyone. Just got my new razor, black Dovo Bismark, with P1 strop, from SRD 10 days ago and have been using it ever since. Finally decided to move up from my Muhle R41 safety razor and couldn't be happier. I'm getting a great shave on my cheeks and jaw line and my goatee and sideburns are nice and straight, but I'm still struggling a little with grip and positioning for second and clean-up passes, but things get better every day. I really enjoy my shave time even more each morning now.
I also have a G. Wostenholm & Son Rockingham Works with the I*XL center blade, circa 1840's that belonged to my father's great grandfather. I am going to look into having someone restore it for me. It is in fairly good shape with, what I consider, minimal corrosion. The edge needs to be completely restored and the scales are shot. I'll post pictures in the razors forum soon.

Welcome aboard! There's a few who do it and a few more who are probably rubbing their hands to get it in their post box

Hi OSD & welcome aboard. It looks like you have been checking things out already so I'm sure you have probably looked in the Library here already. If not, just ask. You can practice with a butterknife to keep from damaging a nice strop or dulling a good edge. Check out Lynn Abrams video's on Youtube also. Any questions, just ask. It's such a pleasure to have you here. Good luck my friend.
