    Greetings Gents!

I've been doing the traditional wet shaving thing for 6 or so years now, but I've only gotten into straights since last May. It's lots of fun, but I'm clueless about maintenance, and honing costs are breaking the bank! I've got a a nice, little stable of straights to look after, and I hope you gents can learn me how to treat them right. :-)

Nice razors. I use paste from the art of Shaving on the canvas. Strop on the canvas first then finish on leather. If you strop correctly your edge should last a long time without rehoning.

Those are some beauts! Careful, once you buy a stone or 4, you'll want to try them all

Wow, that's quite the stable of razors. Some good looking brushes too. What brush is in your first and third pictures? There is a gathering coming up in Pittsboro on February 27 at the Carolina Brewery & Grill from 10:30 to 3:00. The focus is on honing. There is a thread on here about it. I think it's titled triangle area get together or something like that.
    Have a great day!

Blades like the beauties you have will go a long time between honongs once you strop and care for them well. At the beginning, I could ruin an edge in 5 or 6 shaves. There's a meet up in the Triangle area in a couple of weeks. You could meet some others and learn some new tricks/techniques: http://straightrazorpalace.com/get-t...-together.html

The brush is a custom by Alan Zenreich of Studio Z42. I don't know how popular he is in the traditional forums, but he's got a nice following in the Facebook shaving groups. It has an extra dense, silvertip knot from Nathan Clarke, another custom brush turner.

Nipper and I talked on the phone earlier today, and I am definitely going. :-)
