Default Excited about using a straight razor

I'm tired of multi-blade safety razors that clog and give a poor shave. "Improvements" over my original single blade injector razor, which gave me a reasonable shave, are just marketing gimmicks that put money in corporate coffers. It is a travesty that the industry virtually forces customers to buy throw away razors and continuously changes razor models. Saturday Night Live once had a skit on the 25 blade razor, very funny. Of course I could go with a good quality razor using double edge blades, but I want to get the best shave possible and a positive shaving experience and I am willing to put the time and effort into it. Thanks for this site's info and help.

I love my straights, but don't think you can't get a great shave with a DE. I can get as good any day with my DE,s. It's in the hand doing the shaving and of course the edge. Tc

Welcome. The gold standard in shaving since 1880! Once you have your technique down the shaves will be incredible day after day. Close, smooth and comfortable, heavy on the comfortable.

Welcome Victorlglass. Your going to love it. Just go slow and pay attention. This is not something you want to rush. You bought a razor yet ? Been reading ?
