    Cool Howdy from Texas

Hello all, been lurking for a little while. Came over here looking for some more guidance on razor restoration. Guess you could say I caught the bug.

Little about me I live in houston, married to a wonderful woman who has been very supportive of all my recent spending on this hobby. After 7 years in the air force I now work for the fire department and am a reservist.

I look forward to learning from many of you. Now off to the forge to look into books before I start sanding again today.

Forgot to mention, I started Straight shaving at Christmas. My mother got some things mixed up, long story short I'm hooked.

    Welcome!
There is lots of advice that we can offer, but it is easier to answer a specific question because there are so many parts to restoration Do you have a picture of your current project?

+1 to the butchered blade thread, it will probably take 2-5 weeks to get through all the information. But once you're done, you will go to antique store and clear out the shelves just to see what you can do.

Sounds like an interesting story how you got your razor for Christmas...
