Thanked: 0To the USA and back
Hello from England.
My first straight arrived today from Larry aka Whipped Dog. It's stamped BENGALL for R.Whichart Phili. I presume it's made by TR Cadman of Sheffield, this is about 40 miles from home. Small world.
First shave this morning, just the cheeks to jawline but using both hands, one word sublime. Finished off with my German DE with a Russian Blade. Nothing if not cosmopolitan
I may be a bit more adventurous tomorrow.
Gaz
Just one more thing, how do you do a hanging hair test when you're bald?

Welcome to the forum!
You could use chest hair? I don't use the hanging hair test and am still growing back hair on my forearms...
Let us know if you have any questions.

Thanked: 1081Welcome to SRP Gaz.
Looks like your having fun already, we knew how to make great straights back in the day and Bengals are just that.
Read everything in the library, anything you need to know is in there.
Forget about the hanging hair test for now, you've got more than enough to be getting on with than fretting about a test that doesn't mean a huge amount if the test is not calibrated.

Hi Greenpotterer & welcome aboard. You are among very knowledgable group of people plus there is such a wealth of information here. The HHT is not as accurate as the shave itself. That is the real test & it tugs or pulls then you still need possibly some touching up to do & if that does't work, then send it out to a pro honer so you will have a reference point plus you'll really know wha shave ready is but from what I've read many times, Larry at Whipped Dog sends them out shave ready. Great to have you here.
Good luck my friend.

Thanked: 0Wow thanks for the welcome,
Like I said I had my first partial shave this morning, thats about 14 hours ago, and it still feels much smoother than with my DE (with 2 passes) done at the same time. So it would appear Larry has done it again.
Here to smoother shaves, in small increments.
