    Default new here

    Hello Gentlemen!

My name is Maurice and I am from the Netherlands.

After a half of a lifetime interested in nature, outdoors, bushcraft and also of course knives and stones only last year (38 years) I started shaving with a Straight Razor

I got two very old razors with were (seemed later) worn out.
So I bought a new 5/8 beginners Dovo and found some nice vintage razors later. They are a Trition 8/8, a Stauss and a other blade.

Still learning the shaving techniques! Practising sharpening with a Coticule and some stropping compound.

Lots to learn but a nice hobby and very practical too!

I hope to learn alot here and have a nice time

I've been playing with straight razors for nearly 15 years and I'm still learning new things too!

You have very nice razors and hones so you are off to a great start. Unless you choose to go overboard, it looks like you already have everything that you need. How are your shaves? I know you said you are still learning but are you happy with your shaves?

Thank you! I started off with some cuts here and there, but they got less. This month no cuts and nice fresh shaves. Since I do straight razor shaves I started loving shaving. So very practical too. Also very clean shaves so no anoying maxhine or not functional (for me) modern gilette.
