Thanked: 4Hello from Kansas City
Very new to straight razors, find this site and the forums very helpful. Have started collecting my "bits and pieces" for restoration and repair, and just finished my first restoration a few days ago. When I learn how to upload photos, I'll post some pics. I do have one question that is driving me insane. When it comes to pinning, what are the little washer-like things that look as though they are bowl shaped instead of flat, and where do you get them? It appears as though the pin gets peened down into them instead of flattened onto them. Please help. They remind me of a finish washer like you wood use in woodworking, but many times smaller of course.

Thanked: 3795As far as I know, the only way to get the domed washers is to make them yourself or have someone do it for you. This is easily done with a doming, or dapping, block. I got mine at Harbor Freight.
