    Default Howdy from Louisiana

I am Jason McInnis and I live in Shreveport, Louisiana. I just became interested in wet shaving a few months ago. For many years I had a Duck dynasty style beard but recently shaved. I currently use a Merkur 38C safety razor but plan to go straight this summer. Any opinions or help would be great.

    Welcome to SRP, Jason!

Definitely +1 on reading the Beginner's Suggestions. Unless you already have a Honing Contact, get a Straight that is Shave Ready from the Classifieds here... Perhaps get two early on. Don't worry about cosmetics and such on your first one as your tastes will likely change as time and experiences leads you to try different things. Once you have a few months experience then it may be time to start chasing certain features in a better or new Straight.

    Enjoy your journey!!
