Default A long time in the making

    Hi all,

I am a young and budding straight razor shaver. A few years ago, after the passing of my grandfather, i learnt the art of shaving using a safety razor. Part of this was to hold onto the connection to him (this is what he used to shave and i had no idea what it was or how to use it). The other was for the pleasure of shaving, the smell and craft, not just seeing it as a chore. 4 years down the track and i am now keen to step up and turn my hand at a straight razor. I had my first shave the other day after much research, watching of videos and general information gathering and the whole experience went without a hitch. I cant wait to gain more advice and wisdom from the members on this site.
    Cheers,
    Grant

Grunter -- that is a great story, and a great reason to move on to straights! If you have the brush and lather tackled, you're ahead of the game especially with your understanding of enjoying rather having to do a shave.

Read up, watch videos and ask questions! And welcome!!
