Thread: new guy from Tipton County TN

Hi all,
Been using a cheap amazon shavette since last Dec, with the exception of a week with a Gold Dollar, the edge didn't last, so I sent it in to be honed and lo and behold the new edge again didn't last. Back to the Shavette. Last week I picked up a Hess 44 for a whopping 2 bucks at a garage sale. Being Stainless it is in good condition, however it is to dull to shave arm hair let alone my delicate face.

I know that Lynn does a great job honing, but is there a local guy here in the Memphis Area that can hone, and perhaps help me out with the stropping as I am not entirely sure I did not roll the edges on the gold dollar before I gave up on it.

I,m in Oakland and have offered help to new guys in my area. I,m not in Lynn's league or for that matter just about anyone. So PM me and we'll get together. Personally I don't want to mess with the Gold Dollar and I,m truly surprised Lynn even took it in, he used to not mess with them, but your Hess if in Decent shape we can work with it, plus look at your stropping. I didn't mean to imply that the gold dollar went to Lynn, I sent it to the place that sold it to me. I will be touching base with TC in the next few weeks. THANKS FOR THE INVITE!

Hi and welcome. I would be suspicious of the honing of anyone selling a gold dollar as a razor.
