Welcome to the forum Clumybaby. Great seeing more Brits here. Is your DE open or closed comb? Which blades are you using and which have you tried?

Post some good photos of your strop. If it's saveable, there will be great advice here on how to restore it.

I'm in Mexico on holiday I'll try dig out the strop I don't think I will restore it as it is more a decoration now it means to much to ruin and my safety was my dads I used it on my baby whiskers when I was 16-17 I'm now 24 and haven't had a clean shave myself since 17 as I said before went for a hot towel shave and the feeling of my clean shave and the fact that I had very little to no irritation was amazing

Hope you're enjoying your holiday! The weather here in UK is awful. Rain, rain and more rain. Crap!

Was your hot towel shave in Mexico or in Scotland before leaving? It won't happen overnight, but with time and the right combination of DE, blade or even the right SR, you can achieve that irritation free clean shave all the time. Good luck!

Irvine, eh? One of my flatmates was from your fair Borough.

Wayne394 is spot on: it will take time, but that great feeling can be yours every time with patience and perseverance! And having had that great experience, you know what to aim for.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

I found this site and bought one the last Sunday of my holiday and with time difference and everything it came when I got home shaved with it and had an amazing experience so unlucky for you lot I'm now here asking as many questions as possible
