    Default Hola from Texas

I'm Daniel from SA, TX (Go Spurs! - Next year haha)

I have long since traded in the multiblade razors for DEs and have been using them for a few years.

I have always wanted to learn to use a straight razor, and have been looking into those options. Lurking here I picked up the poor mans strip kit from Whipped Dog, and a fairly inexpensive Henkels/Soligen vintage straight from fleabay to learn to hone and strop, not necessarily to shave with, although that would be an ideal start.

Great forum you guys have here. I love all of the information I have found thus far.

Be careful of rust on the henkels, don't want to contaminate the strop.

Good info. Thanks. This one seems cleaned up pretty well. No rust, some pitting. Decent edge to it.

Not so much. Longtime online handle, had a black car at the time, and I'm a Funeral Director/Embalmer.

Welcome from a fellow Texan! I would recommend looking on the classifieds here for a shave ready straight, you need a benchmark before you can start honing your own blades. Take a look around and enjoy yourself!

Hi and welcome aboard. There are a few guys from Texas floating about so maybe you could arrange a meeting to get your honing and stropping sorted and get started on the right foot. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed
