    Default A reintroduction from Iowa

    Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I joined this forum back in 2011, didn't really participate much. I began to think straight razor shaving was to much work for me , and it still may be, but here I am again......

My name is Henry but online I go by Hank I am 45 years old I had a stroke when I was 43 . I was born and raised in Iowa, I've lived for a short time in Michigan and for about ten years in Tennessee now I am back home in Iowa .

I started shaving with a double edged safety razor in 2005 and I feel I have that skill figured out and I'm looking for a new challenge.

    Hello!

    Hank

Hi Hank. Welcome from just north in Minnesota.

I just got here myself and have recently begun my straight razor journey.

Well I used to drive through CR regularly but finally got around to selling my Iowa City house so now I am in Rochester most of the time. If you can get near Des Moines, then Mainaman can help you. If you find yourself north my way, then I can help you. We both have all the essential toys and can help you get started.

And no, 11 posts since 2009 is not participating much, but you are welcome to make use of this place as you see fit! Welcome back!

Cedar rapids is a pretty inspiring name for a place. Hope someday ride your rapids on a wild zephyr. Be welcome again, veteran.

Cedar Rapids is a beautiful river city, but a 10 year old in a toy canoe could probably safely navigate the rapids as far as I know

When my son was about 4 years old, he used to have two comments about Cedar Rapids.
First, he used to call it Oatmeal City, because of the frequent smell from the Quaker Oats plant.
Second, he asked me a few times where the rabbits were in the town. At first I did not understand why he kept asking about the rabbits but eventually we worked out that what he was hearing when I said Cedar Rapids, was "See The Rabbits!"
