    Default Ahoy hoy from Chicago

    Greetings gents,

The name's Adam. I keep finding myself in this forum when researching razors so I figured it was time to join the party. My collection is humble but I've definitely been bit by the bug. The top 3 in the picture are recent acquisitions from an antique store and I have a M. Jung coming my way from a friend in AZ. Time to get reading and learn how to polish these up, then off to one of you fine men for a honing.

Or, you can bring them with you to a meet-up in a couple of weeks. There is going to be a meet-up in Waukesha, WI on Aug 13 and beginners are highly encouraged to come and learn some stuff in person.

You can read about it HERE.

I would have liked to make that one too! If I plan my trips better I can see about breaking a record for most meets in a year! Tc

Hi and welcome. If polishing yourself be very careful of the etching and goldwash as you can ruin then very quickly. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask

Thanks, I'm here for advice. How should I be careful? Not polish the goldwash/etching, just the plain steel?

You will likely start removing the wash immediately the etch might take a light bit but may fade some. Personally I would not do the wash and very light to etching.
