Thread: Hello from Virginia

Hello all, thanks for allowing me to join. I've been lurking for a while, and finally decided to take the plunge. To be honest, I've never really enjoyed shaving, which is why I normally sport a beard. Mainly due to the fact that I've only ever used cheap disposables on 2-3 day stubble. I've recently decided to try to keep a cleaner (i.e. shaven) appearance for work and develop some better grooming techniques, so I'll be anxious to see if this straight razor thing is as cracked up as you all portray. Thanks again!

Hi and welcome. Indeed shaving with a straight is a great shave but not something that you will get straight away. Bit keep with it and it will be worth the effort. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask

Hello and welcome to the forum. I used to shave a couple of times per week till I started using a DE and better shave soap, didn't know of all the choices till I found a few sites on the net. After I saw and felt the improvement I decided to start using a straight, which I prefer now. It does take some trial and error to get the hang of it, but is more satisfying. There is a lot of information available here.

Welcome to SRP!! Your story is a pretty common one and I hated shaving prior to starting Wet Shaving as well. You are definitely in the right place now!!
