Thanked: 1Hello from Oklahoma
Hello everyone. I am very new to straight razors but have been using a safety razor for about 3 years. I have a small collection of them (only about 6), but enjoy using them and the results I get. Well I guess the bug hit me to try using a straight razor. I have an old one that was my grandfathers but hesitate to use it. I'm strange that way. Lol
Anyway, I look forward to learning as much as I can and helping if possible on these forums.People said I'd never make 35, then I'd never make 40, 45; now I'm almost 50, so Im beginning to think maybe they might be wrong. - Chet Baker

Thanked: 634Welcome. Before using your grandfather's razor find someone on here that does restoration and honeing. It will cost a little but it will be done right and give you the shave it was meant to give. Good luck.

Hi and welcome. Do get your grandfather's shaving again. Good idea to learn on another blade so any mistakes or whoops moments don't hurt an heirloom razor. Good luck and any questions feel free to ask
My wife calls me......... Can you just use Ed

Welcome to SRP!! Very cool to have your Granddads Razor! Toughest part is finding someone Local or getting to a Meet... Not sure I'd ever put an Heirloom Razor in the Mail as no amount of Insurance can cover it.
