Thanked: 0Hello from Wisconsin
Hi, I'm Isaiah. I'm a knifemaker in Wisconsin. I only make kitchen knives right now but I'm interested in making and using a straight razor so I thought I'd check out this forum and try to learn as much as I can from you all!

Hello Isaiah & welcome aboard. Knives & razors are completely different from each other when it comes to sharpening them. Check out the Workshop under Maintenance, Repair, and Restoration. There you will find The Forge & The Gallery - Custom Builts and Restorations. There is so much information on here it seems endless. It's such a pleasure to have you here.
Good luck my friend.

Thanked: 3228Welcome to the forum. You have had some good advice on where to look for info on making and honing straight razors. The only thing I'll say is that vintage razors look the way they do from blade designs, the blade geometry and the scales etc is that they work after about 300 years of evolution.

Cool! I make my way over there to hit up antique stores and play handball. Let me know if you need any assistance.
