am glad I joined this site after watching video's at youtube on SR and reading everything
I could about the classic shaving art always been interested in this fine art from watching my dad use his SR "very long time ago" until my wife surprised me one day
with a two new SR am still a little over cautious still. just started using my razor a few days ago more cuts then shaving an learning and glad to be here plan to read every post
and or video.

Welcome aboard owl1260. What make of straight razors did you get if you don't mind me asking? Reason I ask is there are good ones & bad ones. Hopefully they aren't on this list:

Thanked: 1thank you all. I have two boker SR's given to me by a close family member and I the shop that they came from claims they leave the factory shave ready well they are not.
anyone else had this problem

Right on. I'm glad you have those & yes, many people have had that problem. I really don't understand why factories claimed to be shave ready when they weren't. It has happened more times than I can remember.
