Thanked: 5New guy from South Carolina
Hello there. I am a recent convert to DE shaving and I am interested in learning the art of straight razor shaving. I am looking forward to gaining info from you folks around here.

Welcome to the forum.
Best advice I can give is head over to the beginners section, check out the library too. I spent many an hour there and it really is helpful.
I also made the transition from DE and the one thing I really learned quickly is that the key is no pressure at all. I used to let the weight of a DE do the work, and since moving over to straights I have realised that even that is not required. Your shaves will be more comfortable and closer for it too.
Take your time, if you go wrong today you can have another go tomorrow! You will get there and you will enjoy the ride.Fact: Opinions are not the same as facts... Well, that's my opinion anyway

Best wishes to you. I have twice been a resident of South Carolina, Aiken, and then up until recently, Hilton Head.
Good luck to you on your journey. For sure it takes a while to feel comfortable. We were all there once.
