    Default Hello from Brownsville, Texas.

Hi! Im new to this forum. I joined mainly to learn more about the art of shaving with a SR. I had always wanted to shave like real men, A month ago I asked a friend, who is a barber, how could I begin using a SR, he then gave me a Marianna Hair Sharpener with a pack of 5 Personna hair sharper blades. He told me that would be perfect to learn, he then gave me some tips and showed me how. He passed away last week and I couldn't ask him how often shoud I switch blades. If any of you could please tell me I would appreciate it a lot!

Sorry to hear about your friend.

I had to GOOGLE it just to see what he left you. I looks similar to a Feather disposable. I have never used one myself, but some of the guys here do. Eventually someone who has used one, will see this thread & give you some good answers.

    Welcome from SE Washington State

As i'ts been said those that use the replaceable blades should be chiming in!

This age old art takes patience but once semi mastered will give remarkable shaves.

Welcome to the Forum. My Dad was from Brownsville, his Dad was an artist, he painted a lot of murals in restaurants around town. I haven't been there in 30 years I bet it has changed a bunch. Folks here are eager to help, check out our Library for an endless source of information.

Hi and welcome. Using de blades I would assume it to be similar to any disposable system. When it starts tugging and harder to cut change it out. De blades are cheap so frequently changes wont cost much. I can get 100 astra blades for the price of about 3 disposable fusion ones so its very cost effective

$18 US for 100 Personna. Most guys get 4 or 5 shaves from each blade. $18 for a year and a half of shaving is fairly darn cheap.
