    Default Yet another new guy from Germany

    Hello everyone,

    I've been reading here for quite a while now and even went as far as to create an account a few months ago ... but I have never posted anything until now. After 5 months of shaving with straigt razors I guess I am finally ready

    My name is Martin, I'm 51 years old and live near Berlin - some of you might already know me from either TSD or the German forum "Gut rasiert". After more than 30 years of perceiving shaving as a chore (using cartridge razors and canned goo) and a brief episode with electric shavers I switched to soap, brush and DE razor in spring of 2015 and learned to enjoy my shaves.

    Out of curiosity I bought an inexpensive Gold Dollar 208 a few months ago - and I got the hang of shaving with a straight pretty quickly. So the Gold Dollar (which I still like to use occasionally) got some company - at the moment my small collection has a dozen straights (modern and vintage), approximately 30 DE and SE razors, 25 soaps and 11 brushes.

    Okay - enough talking. Thank you all for the information provided on this site ... and I'm looking forward to becoming a part of this.

    If only it would stop at razors. Expect brushes, soaps, strops, hones etc to all somehow breed
