Merry Christmas all. My name is Jeremy and I have been browsing this forum for some time. I have been shaving with a safety razor for about two years and this morning as a gift from my wife I received a Dovo 5/8 rounded tip and a 2" leather strop. I attempted my straight razor shave this morning by just shaving the dominant side cheek down to the jaw line and then same thing on weak side. No nicks or cuts and I was happy with the results. A little about me: I am 31 years old and am a Master Segeant in the worlds greatest Air Force. I am a lover of all old school manliness type things. For example, I use nasal snuff tobacco and wear leather, wing-tipped boots and cardigans. I have been wanting to start straight razor shaving for some time and am grateful for my wife for making it happen. I look forward to being apart of this community.

Jeremy, welcome to SRP. You already know you won't have any dissapointment from interacting with other members on this site. But to increase your involvement and satisfaction if you would edit your info and add where you are located it would likely be possible to link you up with a Mentor or Senior Member willing to do some face-to-face meeting and help guide you towards better shaves. In most cases they are able to make sure you aren't dulling your razor's edge and can help you maintain it's keenness.

Will do sir. I am not tech savy by any means, but I will accomplish same. Until then, I am originally from Danville, Il, but currently reside in San Antonio, TC.
