Thanked: 0Hello new to the forum barber here
Hello, I'm a barber in the middle of Pennsylvania in the US. I've started a pretty good straight razor collection and I'd like to take it to the next level. I think I'm ready to start making the old razors like new again and using them in my shaves. Any info in the refurbishing of old razors and other info would be appreciated. Thanks so much
Eddie

Welcome from SE Washington State!
There are many roads that lead to Rome some easier than others. Personally I like to start 'high' on any abrasive. You can always go lower.
Depending on how much damage or 'Battle Scars' there are often just some metal polish such as Blue Magic, Mothers Mag and Aluminum Polish or MASS can make a remarkable difference.
Also while a razor may look like there's not much upon digging deeper you find that there was more than met the eye, such as my great grandfather's W&B. See here:

I would encourage you to expand on your location as there may be help just down the road. Our house is as Neil left it- an Aladdins cave of 'stuff'.

Oh I was about to say something stupid until I realized you meant shaving yourself.
Welcome to the forum! You'll find tons of good info here about refurbishing blades & repairing/replacing damaged scales.
