Thanked: 1Hello from Vermont
Been using this forum for a bit to gather some info on straight razors and how to use them. I made the jump to a straight not that long ago...I started with a Sight Unseen Razor and poor mans strop from Whipped dog Straights. The razor from Whipped dog is a Vintage 5/8 Shumate Tonso...Enjoyed that so a few days ago I made the big purchase and bought a Ralf Aust Solingen 6/8 African Blackwood Spanish Point, and a Straight Razor Designs Premium 3 inch Leather Strop from Lynn at Straight Razor Designs (very impressed with Straight Razor Designs, shipping was very fast and the products were beautiful). Lucky me it was all delivered right before Christmas (merry christmas to me). I shaved with the Ralf Aust Christmas morning and I absolutely love the Aust! The shave was amazing...so smooth and easily the best shave I have ever had.
As you can tell I completely enjoy it and am getting a better shave every time I try. I look forward to continuing to learn and becoming a better wet shaver.

Best of welcomes, VT.
You can already tell you're glad you went for quality in a shave. I've used both of those blades, they're both excellent. 'Would be hard to do better.
You also know you hit the mother lode of superb help & attitudes. 'Very glad to have you.
Have fun, enjoy the learning. Don't spoil the fun by trying too hard. It'll come anyway.
