Thread: New, but dove in head first

Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been shaving just my neck so far because I have a winter beard going but so far so good. I notice I get a better shave on my left side with my left hand then I do on my right side with my dominant hand. I haven't nicked myself yet, just a bit of razor burn on the right side.

I have a few thoughts as to why that might be. Could be that I'm holding the razor much looser in my left hand and have a firmer grip using too much pressure on it when using my dominant hand. Or I may have messed up the edge of the razor while stropping. I have a jewelers loupe on the way so I will be able to get a better look at the edge. I'm sure I just have a long way to go on my technique. But right now I'm really happy with comfort and closeness of the shave I'm getting.

Welcome! i was at the meetup too but didn't really meet too many people (too busy honing with Lynn). Maybe next time i'll spend more time talking. If you can get together with Outback that would be a huge help. Sounds like it might be a pressure issue on the right side. good luck and nice razors!
