Thanked: 3New, but dove in head first
New to straight razor shaving but I have a small collection of razors going and looking to start doing touch up honing on them as well. I was shaving with a DE for about 2 years and then a couple months ago purchased a dubl duck wonderedge and a strop. It's been a joy to shave with. And then a couple weeks after that I acquired another wonderedge, a dwarf, and a satinedge. All shave ready.
I recently just purchased a Suehiro Gokumyo 20k to touch up as needed. I'm a bit nervous to touch these beauties to a stone myself but have been reading and watching videos. I'm going to try my best to avoid all the rookie mistakes.
I may have met a few members here at the SRD/Imperial shaving meet-up last fall in Medina. I live 30 minutes from there and stopped in briefly.

Welcome to Straight Razor Place!
You might consider trying to find a mentor in your area to run you through honing.

Thanked: 4822Welcome. There is no better place to learn than at a meet. Refreshing is a great place to start honing.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Hello Nocturnx and welcome to SRP!
I'm like you, an all or nothing go for broke kinda guy.
I was at the meet in Medina as well.
Looks like you have got an awesome start to your collection.
I would seek some local help before trying to hone on your own. I'm sure that there are a few local guys in your area that would be more than willing to help.
I'm sure I'll see you at the next meet.
Good luck!
