Welcome to the forum Carswell. The first thing you need to do is throw that RenRen junk in your bin! Absolute crap. It won't help you learn to hone because you'll never get a decent edge on it. Buy a couple of cheap, reasonably decent blades and practice with those until you feel confident to hone your chosen usable SR.
Read as much as you can on here, watch Youtube vids and generally absorb all you can. Most importantly, enjoy yourself! Good luck.
