Hello and welcome. You have to know that a shavette vs a SR is like a tricycle vs a bicycle. Some are using the first to learn before going to the second, others don't. It can help, but it is not a necessity. And most say after that they waited too long to go on SR.
BTW, you have two kinds of shavettes : the ones using splited safety blades, and others like Dovo using one special designed long blades. How short the blade, how coarse the bite.
