Newbie from Ontario, Canada Checking In
Hello all. I've been using a safety razor for awhile now and have been interested in getting into straight razor shaving for some time. Not long ago I purchased a shavette to get a feel for it without committing a lot of money. I've gotten pretty good at it and I'm ready to take the next step. I have a Boker 5/8 King Cutter and a leather stropping board in my cart to get me started. I'm just waiting for a reply from the vendor to a question I have and will pull the trigger. I've suffered the acquisition disorders with wet shaving and pipes so I have a good idea what I'm in for on that front
I've found some great information here in the short time I've been lurking and look forward to hanging out.

A lot of great folks and info here to get you on the right track.
Not sure where you're buying your razor from, but odds are it won't be shave ready. I could be wrong, but they usually aren't.
Why not check the Buy/Sell/Trade section here. You'll be getting a quality razor that is shave ready. The link is at the top of the page.

Thank you all for the welcome.
@DieselD: The vendor I plan to buy from hones them to shave ready before shipping them out. As a bonus they are located reasonably close to me, about 2 hours up the road. I'd like to hone my own razors in the future but it's nice to have someplace nearby that offers the service in the meantime.
