New from Ohio
new to the straight razor game, and hello all.
I cut/trim my own hair and other friends/family and naturally moved into this.
I also am somewhat of a switch/knife collector so it all falls into place for me here.
Look forward to meeting and learning a great deal from the site.
I have heard this site was really great and the best.
I just recently acquired my first blade a Torrey and the basics a strop and boar brush and soap so I will be trying all those as soon as they arrive.
again excited to learn more and maybe pick up some different blades to try

Welcome to SRP, easyrider. Here's wishing you a great first shave when your goodies land.
Feel free to ask any questions; the members here are extremely helpful and true gentlemen. Local meet-ups and/or mentors are also great ways to learn a lot quickly, so maybe consider those options. Have fun!--Mark

Welcome from another Ohioan.
You've picked an excellent brand. What part of the state are you from. There's also plans in the works for a meet up this year, but haven't heard when.Mike

Hi mike I see your in akron, I already met a nice chap from independence ohio on ebay who recommend I check this place out. I am from the cleveland area so northeast and excited to join. seems quite a few great people and local shops in the area. I almost bought a china blade as my first one on ebay but then thought back to knife collecting in general and opted to do some more research before I buy anything. so yeah a meet would be great be cool to swap and buy some!

Welcome from SE Washington State.
You will find the Library full of great information. Take some time to look through it as when you ask questions you'll have some basic info so you can narrow your questions down. It will help.
If the Ohio Meet (get together) does happen please do all you can to attend as you will learn more in a few hours than you will from months and months of reading and watching videos. Trust me, I speak from my own personal experience.
Straight Razors are an older but better way of shaving, once semi mastered you will find it very rewarding.

Whats up easyrider, great movie by the way I hope you enjoy your new experience when your equipment arrives. There are lots of rewards in the art of wet shaving, there can also be many set backs. But if you accept them, move on and learn from the bad it will make the good much sweeter. As stated ask any questions and join in conversations that interest you, also as mentioned the library is a great place to learn a lot. Take your time have patience and most of all enjoy yourself

Hello easyrider and welcome to SRP!
Do try to make it to the meet up in Medina if you can. Last year's, at SRD,with our founder Lynn and his partner Don, was well worth the trip from Massachusetts for me. You will find it to be a very valuable experience.
Enjoy your time here on the forum!
