Welcome to SRP, if you want to practice put some lather on a balloon and then shave it off. If the balloon does not pop you are in good shape.

Welcome! Take your time and just do small patches at a time. Avoid areas where you cut yourself easily and focus on small successes
It takes time but it worth it!

Well I'm till here and still reading
And still blood letting but I guess that's not to bad for an old butter knife or at least it is now after my poor attempt at honing
